My Creative brain has been working over time!
I have been working on using up "stuff" so I have been making Christmas cards up using bits and bobs collected over a period of years.
Last count I was at about 70.
Then I started making cards using tea bag papers.
and last I have been using wool up to make mug hugs.

Vintage Finds
Like most crafters I love a good rummage in a charity shop!
In our local town we have quite a few 5 at the last count. Now this maybe something to do with the fact that we have an elderly population here or that the rent in the shops is cheaper than other places I am not sure but anyway I digress.
The other day on my morning saunter around the shops I came across quite a few goodies.
These gorgeous tea cups which might be made into pincushions. At bit like this one

I also found this fantastic old vogue how to sew book.
On the way back from town I decided to stop at the local tip. Here they have a section for things for re-use. I had a quick look around and suddenly found this
The most gorgeous retro suitcase So I asked the man in charge at the tip how much they wanted for it thinking that because it was so lovely and retro they would want quite a lot for it. When he replied with "oh a £1" I nearly let out a massive squeal of excitement!
I can imagine it being on a railway platform with it's owner waiting for the steam train to come in. I wonder perhaps I should write a book!

Yay a ta dah moment!
Well.....................
TA DAH!
The Summer Garden Blanket is finished. I am so amazed that I have finished some thing so big and so beautiful. It was started way back in March and although I haven't worked on it permanently It has been a big project.
It is going to live on our bed upstairs but I have a sneaky feeling it might be coming down stairs for snuggling when it is cold.
Not sure what the next project is going to be but think it might be something for a Christmas Present!

Carnival Time
Now where I am from Carnivals take place during the day and during the Summer. But here on the Wiltshire/Dorset Border they happen September/ October time and in the evening.
The reason being because I think that during the Summer life is busy with bringing in the Harvest.
Well Last night was it was the turn of Shaftesbury to have their Carnival.
During the day there had been the children's carnival but we were there for the evening one which started at about 7.30pm. It was very strange to be outside on the 1st Of October with sandals and a skirt rather than huddled up with jumpers and jeans.
The floats were amazing so many light and moving parts with stunning costumes.
There were marching bands, majorettes and dancing schools all taking part.
There was one funny point though three entries were of Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire each one different but all going down the Indian theme!
The amount of work and effort that had gone into all the entries was amazing from decorating the floats, Costumes and learning Dance routines.
The above photo is the float from Little elephant no 3's scout and cub Carnival Club they did a fantastic job and came first in their class! Next week Little Elephant no 3 joins them at the next carnival!
